The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) prepares students with beginner-level knowledge on the responsibilities of possessing and using non-restricted firearms. The course focuses on the safe use, handling, and legal requirements for the possession, transportation and storage of firearms and ammunition.
If you are interested in firearms safety, acquiring a firearm, or work which involves the use of firearms (movies and acting, outdoor careers, law enforcement), this is an excellent foundational course.
Successful completion of this course is also the legal requirement to apply for a federal firearms Possession and Acquisition license (PAL), which enables you to possess and acquire non-restricted firearms. To possess and acquire restricted firearms (handguns, some types of rifles), you will also need to complete the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course.
